Garage Door Prices | How much is a standard garage door?
This is a question we are asked almost everyday. Our reply is always the same. There really is no such garage door size anymore, only standard stock sizes for new build garages used for replacement garage doors. This means you have to be even more careful when ordering a new garage door.
The choice of garage doors now is enormous with manufacturers catering for:
We have set out below 10 different garage door prices examples to show how 1 garage opening size can produce 10 very different drive through measurements and 10 very different end prices. The size is taken from the most frequently encountered single width brickwork size measured by our company over the last 24 years.

The brickwork opening size most encountered on older single size brick built garage openings is 2290mm wide (approx. 7’6”) x 2250mm high (approx. 7’4 3/4”). We assume for the price examples below that there is sufficient headroom and sideroom internally.
The garage door prices are also based on:
- Removing the old garage door panel
- Removing old garage door mechanism
- Disposing old garage door from site
- Installation of a new sub frame
- Installation of a new garage door panel
- Installation of a new operating mechanism
- Installation of a new remote control electric operator (when included)
All priceshave assumed very average times on site and no major making good work.

Bear in mind there are a lot of associated costs with removal and installation of a garage door, we can supply only garage doors for less than £300 if you are happy to carry out the installation yourself. We can also deliver anywhere in the U.K.
