How much is a standard replacement garage door?
A question asked a hundred times a week! You cannot quantify what a standard garage door is any more. The choice of materials, door types and styles is enormous, the range of colours vast and the wide variety of peripheral items available, coupled with the fact that brickwork opening sizes of garages vary to a large degree makes giving an exact price impossible.

It really does depend on the application and use of the door.

Can I buy a door supply only to install myself?
We supply many garage doors every week to customers to install themselves and we will always be glad to assist you with information to ensure that the correct size and type of garage door is ordered. What is your standard garage door size?
A standard garage door size does not really exist. For example a new 7’ x 7’ garage door may not fit into the sub-frame of an older 7’ x 7’ garage door due to metrification and more modern operating gear size requirements. Standard garage door sizes usually mean stock door sizes, signifying a garage door that can be obtained quickly from stock for a new build project.

How can I get an exact price?

Do you take the old garage door away?
Yes, if we are installing your new garage door we will remove all the debris including the old door and frame (although we do have to make a small charge due to landfill charges).

How long will I have to wait after I have placed my order?
This depends on the type of garage door you have ordered. If it is a standard door and we are installing, then you would generally have to wait 2-3 weeks. Bespoke doors could take anything up to 8 weeks. If we are supplying from stock for delivery only it could be as little as 48 hours.

How much extra is remote control operation?
Depends very much on the garage door type and the operator type – if we are installing the operator at the same time as the door then the price would vary from around £300 to £580 including VAT with suitable power provided. Click on promotional offers page for any special offers.

How long will the actual installation take?
We do try to always plan for the installation to be completed the same day to ensure security even if there are several garage doors on your house.

Do we need to be there when you install the garage door?
It is not necessary for you to be present for the whole of the installation but we do like you to be there on completion to allow us to give you a full demonstration of the door/operator and to hand over remote controls or keys.

Are your installers employed directly by you?
Yes, employed by us and trained by us. We do offer certain products with installation from the manufacturers, especially when there are long distances involved to simply keep the costs down for installation and improve lead times. We can recommend installers also if you wish to buy the door yourself

What is the warranty period?
This depends very much on the manufacturer but it is usually 5 years minimum on the hardware and 2 - 5 years on electronic components. Many European manufacturers offer 10 years on their garage doors.

Do you have a backup for aftersales?
Yes we do, after 25 years of trading we do not just fit and forget. We will service and maintain all our garage doors and have a comprehensive repair service available.
