Q:Will a garage door in a colour finish match my windows or front door?

The chances are a coloured may not appear to match exactly for many reasons so beware if you think you can get a perfect match with any colour
Although nowadays you can order sectional and insulated roller doors in almost any RAL or BS standard colour what you have to be careful of is the gloss content as for some colours the differences in light reflection at different angles and light conditions can appear to make the chosen colour of the garage door perhaps not match the colour of say a front door. A front door or window frame in maybe Upvc or timber painted to a RAL colour by one manufacturer nearly always will have a different gloss content to a garage door from a different manufacturer and this also can occur even from the same manufacturer as the doors will inevitably be made in a different factory and sprayed in a different technique too.

The Hormann door range for example is very extensive and they offer aluminium roller doors, steel sectional doors and steel and aluminium front doors and they are all manufactured in totally different factories and although you may be able to order the same RAL standard colour in any of the the doors the depth of the paint, gloss content and surface finish of the material that is painted will all affect the final result in light reflection and colour perception so our advise is not to really ever expect the products to match from any company and the apparent difference will be more exaggerated on certain colours more. The differences certainly may not be that noticeable unless you have one door right next to another.
Wood stains on different timber species are another good example of where it is highly unlikely to get a 'perfect' match especially if you compare small sections in isolation. Timber samples are the most notorious for not necessarily showing what the overall end result may look like, again especially with certain shades.

If colour matching is very important to you then please speak to us first and obtain up to date samples and advice in regards to you preferred door types and designs.
