Q:Can I get samples of the colours and different surface finishes for the garage doors?

The simple answer is yes, we can provide samples of most of the door colours and finishes if required.
Our surveyors generally carry samples for most doors to enable choosing on the spot.

Many people require samples of the garage door colours to see if they match other items outside on the home but you must be aware that samples are not necessarily 100% accurate as many of them vary in shade slightly depending on what material they are provided on.
Most problems involving colours are because although the RAL or BS colour may be exactly the same the gloss content and material the paint is applied to will reflect light in a slightly different way and look different to the discerning eye.

We have seen exact matches for RAL colours look quite different and this difference can also change dramatically on a sunny day compared to a cloudy day!!  The light reflection from the surface makes a huge difference especially with lighter colours so be aware is you require an exact match it may well not be possible whatever you do, different materials, different gloss content, different thickness of paint and simple facing North or South can sometimes make the difference too.

Timber and GRP door samples are the most contentious as with either of these doors the sample will vary greatly depending on where on the door panel it is taken from. Timber is a natural material and lighter stains particularly will show up very different depending on the original colour of the timber section, With GRP doors natural variances are created on a door panel with lighter or heavier graining and the woodgrain colour will change dramatically according to what graining the sample has in it.

We can help in every aspect of choosing the right colour for your door and keep vast stocks of samples at our head office.
