The Carteck sectional door uses a different spring balance mechanism to most other sectional doors and this enables the headroom requirement to be only 120mm for most of the sizes available. However unlike other 'low headroom' systems the Carteck will give you a full drive through height when fully open using any one of their superb electric operators, and this is unique! This makes this sectional door ideal for larger garages with bedrooms above, flat roof arrangements with little headroom or just anywhere where you want to maximise the drive through height.

Sizes and Flexibility

The Carteck Solid door is available in all standard widths from 6'10" up to 18'0" wide with a new range of 'super sizes' offering widths up to a whopping 8000mm wide (26'3").

These super size sectional doors use commercial operating gear and do require more headroom but still offer excellent value for money for any super size garage.

Carteck also offer many more intermediate standard heights at the same price than others do to maximise the seal and insulation by getting a door the same height as the underside of your lintel avoiding an infill section which is normally not insulated.

Thermal transmittance for a typical 8'0" × 7'0" door is 1.38 W/m²K (EN 13241), with hand‑operated doors tested to 150 N operating forces (EN 12604).

The door uses 40 mm thick insulated steel sectional panels with an eight‑layer construction combining sealed top coating, high‑adhesion primer, corrosion‑resistant galvanised steel skins, a protective rear coat and a high‑stability foam core. Panel insulation is independently tested at 0.56 W/m²K, contributing to a complete door U‑value of 1.38 W/m²K.

Sizes, Fitting and Thresholds

CarTeck Solid is made to measure up to 5.5 m wide and 3 m high and is fitted behind the opening to maximise effective drive‑through width and height, which is particularly beneficial when replacing older up‑and‑over doors. The door can also fit between the opening with a few additional components and trims.

A sloping bottom panel option allows the door to follow a sloping floor while keeping the panel lines aligned.

Operation, Safety and Hardware

The sectional design opens vertically with no swing‑out, making parking close to the door easier and preserving driveway space. CarTeck Solid panels carry a 10‑year manufacturer's guarantee against rust penetration from inside to outside, separation of steel from foam, material and manufacturing defects on non‑moving frame parts and rotting of floor, intermediate, side and lintel seals, subject to correct installation and maintenance. The paint finish is guaranteed for 5 years in standard locations (peeling and blistering, excluding normal colour fade) and 3 years in coastal locations when specified with the coastal paint upgrade, while polymer and aluminium window units are covered for 2 years under normal residential use.
