A double up and over garage door is traditional, versatile and has added stability over a smaller garage door due to it's potential panel flexibility. It is pressed steel, and can be the impression of two single doors side by side, or a continuous design all the way across, depending on your preference. This double up and over door is a perfect choice if your needs are to pop one or two vehicles in there, or rarely use the space inside so don't require a pedestrian sized access, or you may have a different way in and out of this area. Many styles and colours are available, but this example is for a simple vertical or horizontal design with style variations.
This is a classic, original up and over door, it is a smooth design in a standard colour, with no extra embellishment or windows. All the up and over doors we provide are of the highest quality and manufactured to the highest standard.
This price range refers to a fully retractable mechanism and garage door with frame in a white finish and includes all the hardware required, as well as a steel fixing frame to replace any existing frame. This comes wtih a 10 year warranty.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS: Change of powder coat colour finish, fully finishing with trim around the new door frame, remote control operator option, weather seals on the ground and upgrades on the locking will push the price up and require a different quotation. .
Price is referring to the UK standard 14 feet wide door with 2 heights available – 6ft 6” and 7ft 0” (1980mm and 2134mm).
Our basic designs in ribbed variations include a 2 point rod locking system (not inferior cable locking), and have the strong box section steel fixing sub frame. This is to ensure no timber is used and the door operates in the tightest possible tolerances. Improves stability and security.
You should always be aware of exactly what you are getting as a finished job to compare like for like.

COLOURS AND FINISHES
For this price example we are offering the white finish, but often there are some other colours given at the same price as white. Brown, Black or Anthracite are both common options, either at no extra cost or very low extra cost option. Other colours such as green, blue or various greys will add around £150.
SECURITY
The standard locking on a manual double steel up and over door is a 2 point bottom latch steel rod and slam latch locking system with the handle locked via a euro profile cylinder. Combined with the robust galvanized steel outer box section fixing frame the standard door security is actually very good.
EASE OF USE
To operate this manual door, the outside handle is simply held and turned to unlatch. The door panel is then lifted, assisted by large tension springs either side of the door, aiding in lifting the steel side arms.
Adjusted properly, it is reasonably fine to operate, but could be a tough operation if you have any kind of shoulder or back issue; Any double garage door should really be electrically operated..

To close off a double garage opening, you are far better off buying a good quality manual steel up and over rather than a very cheap electric roller door of questionable quality and reliability. Security is better and the up and over door will usually last many, many more years, with no issues at all, plus maintenance is minimal.
Manufacturers such as Hormann and Garador make the very best up and over steel doors for the UK with high quality galvanized and zinc plated components for durability and confidence in the overall integrity.
Always try to buy an up and over door with the steel box section fixing sub frame as it will give a far better overall package and better security and weather protection. We would advise that ANY double up and over door in any material is always ordered with an electric motor drive unit to make operation safe and effortless.
