This style of door consists of an up and over door with high level finish options in colours and woodgrain effects, with more enhanced designs.
Electric operation is included as standard and a mechanism which is optimised for maximum bene-fits in daily use. Retractable PLUS operating gear for example, where the side arms are lifted higher and cranked to give maximum width where the car wing mirrors are (4x4s a different matter). Elec-tric operation is also included, with a security de latching device. This provides minimum 3 point locking automatically engaging whenever the door opens and closes via the remote handset control.
A box section steel sub fixing frame is included, also finished to match or complement the door panel.
This price range refers to a retractable operated mechanism with a choice of finishes, including all hardware required. Also included is a steel box section outer fixing frame to replace any timber frame used, and to provide a better overall operation with a 10 year guarantee.
Additional options are included such as emergency release in case of power failure, enhanced locking and enhanced external handle.
Generally there are around 8-10 standard sizes for most of these designer doors, and some are heavier panels, so you will find 8 feet (2438mm) is often the maximum width.

EXTRAS:
There could be an increase in price with certain windows also added, depending on their specification. Other options would also be available including weatherseals for the floor in differ-ent sizes, and maybe various smartphone and tablet interfaces for control via a smart home system.
Several apps are available depending on the make of electric operator specified. The integra-tion into your smart home could also include sensors, CCTV and other devices which create signals to control or protect your garage door and its contents.

Colours and Finishes
Many RAL colour finishes are offered as standard, with modern colours such as Anthracite Grey, but there is also a range of more traditional colours such as Chartwell Green or Stone Grey.

Security
The security will be very good on a door specified with a minimum 2 point latching, with the locking provided by the electric operator too. Along with a steel sub frame and tighter tolerances all round, the overall effect is pretty good.

Ease of Use
Your door operates at the simple push of a button on a handset; it doesn’t get much easier than that.! Other remote controls are also available such as wireless wall switches.
Smart device apps that are available also provide effortless control of your new door, and certain electric operators also have the option of a battery back-up system to cover you for any power cuts.

The one advantage that one piece up and over garage doors have over roll and sectional doors is that they can have a vast array of designs, simply because the door panel is one piece.
The designer elements and various window options for so many styles are far greater than other door types.
A well specified and designed up and over door will outlast many other doors types.
As long as you are happy with the swing out-along with the drive through width, then up and over garage doors are still a very strong choice. They can sometimes seem more expensive because of how many cheap roller garage doors are now sweeping across the UK.
